You are shot in the leg by bullets, and your femoral artery is severed. The bleeding is extremely traumatic and it can kill you in less than 3 minutes. Unfortunately by the time a medic can actually get to you, and what the medic has in his or her belt takes 5 minutes or more, with the application of pressure to the wound to stop that type of bleeding. But you only have 3 minutes to live.

This is not just a huge problem for the military but also throughout the entire medical field; which is how we look at wounds and how we can seal them quickly in a way that it can work with the body without adverse side effects.
Military doctors have been hoping that new trauma procedures and medicine can save the lives of wounded soldiers in the intervening decades. To give soldiers a fighting chance at survival, Joe Landolina, the CEO of Suneris, has invented a gel that can revolutionize battlefield medicine. This gel is called Vetigel. It can stop bleeding and heal serious wounds almost instantly.

This product is an algae based polymer. By applying it to the wound, it will form a mesh that can hold the wound together and stopbleeding in less than 12 seconds. It doesn’t just temporarily stop the bleeding but also reassembles the tissues and forms fibrin which can heal the wound permanently. This gel has brought hope to soldiers and also the entire medical field. This can be “The Bandage of the Future”.

Now, imagine the same situation again, where you are a soldier in the battlefield, shot by a bullet and bleeding traumatically. But, this time you have Vetigel in your belt. You just pull out a syringe-shaped applicator with Vetigel and simply apply it to your wound. In just 12 seconds, you are able to stop the bleeding on your own without having to wait for the medic’s treatment, and you are on your way to recovery. Now how amazing is this? With Vetigel, soldiers are less likely to bleed to death in the battlefield while waiting for the medic’s treatment and this can saves uncountable lives.
It is really impressive how science and chemistry is able to manipulate what is intangible to our naked eyes, into something so remarkable.
Vetigel:
The Revolution of Battlefield Medicine
Excessive blood loss is always a leading cause of death in the battlefield. To prevent this, soldiers are often trained to equip themselves with emergency first aid kits and how to treat those who are badly injured, giving them a better chance of surviving before they were sent to the medical station for treatment. At this point, the simplicity of Vetigel gives it a significant advantage as the soldiers do not need to be trained to use this gel. Joe Landolina made a goal for Vetigel to be in every soldier's belt, in every ambulance and in every mum’s purse. To be in every mum’s purse, it means that Vetigel can be very easy to use even without prior training and preparation.
Vetigel is a natural fit for military use. It can change life-and-death situations. Vetigel is safe and easy to use whereby it stops bleeding significantly faster than any other traditional treatment. Traditional treatments like the tourniquet and gauze pad often take a longer time to stop traumatic bleeding and are difficult to apply. Therefore, Vetigel can be helpful when it comes to a life-and-death situation. It elevates the soldiers' level of care and also reduces the chance of soldiers bleeding to death in the battlefield.
The reason Vetigel caught my eyes is because I have never seen anything like this before. I couldn’t believe my own eyes until I deeply researched into it and saw the video on Vetigel test. I felt really impressed to see how fast Vetigel can stop bleeding and I hope that this great invention can be released to public to save more lives. Of course, this has to be proven safe to use before it can be released to public. Vetigel has yet to receive approval from FDA to test on humans, but they have not found any negative effects of Vetigel. I believe in the future, Vetigel will bring hope to the medical world and revolutionize the entire medical field no matter in combat or in the operating theatre. It will bring wound treatment into a next level in the future.
